Report: Torture started with Bush

Picture14

Dec. 12, 2008 | "The fact is that senior officials in the United States government solicited information on how to use aggressive (interrogation) techniques, redefined the law to create the appearance of their legality, and authorized their use against detainees." That is one of the raw conclusions of a two-year Senate investigation into torture.

On Thursday, as the incoming Obama administration is mulling whether or not it even should investigate torture under the Bush administration, the Senate Armed Services Committee released the executive summary of its own investigation of the treatment of U.S. detainees. (The full report is still being declassified.)

founder I believe it, but I doubt he ever said anything like "torture them ok?" It's all wink and nod stuff with the CIA. [QUOTE]

founder I don't think it started with Bush. I just think he made it 'okay'. [QUOTE]
