The Wally WHY: A $160 Million Solar Powered Mega Yacht

Wallywhy1
It’s called the “Wally WHY 58x38” – the latter a nod to the luxurious amount of space provided by its 38 meters in width and 58 meters in length. The guilt-free portion is represented by more than 9,687.5 square feet (900 meters) of solar panels, converting what would otherwise be sinfully luxurious to something whose profile, and footprint, is eminently “green”, at least in environmental terms.

Inside the U. Mich's Sun-Powered Car

Solar-car-470-0409
The car I’m sitting in is so futuristic and so technically advanced that it would cost nearly a million dollars to duplicate. Yet this Jet Propulsion Lab on wheels lacks the basic features of even the humblest sedan: a radio, roll-down windows, a heater. I had to slither between the rails of a roll cage to access a cockpit so cramped that it feels as though I’m sitting upright in a Niagara Falls barrel.

Easy To Install Solar Panels Are City Friendly and Affordable

Veranda-solar-out-window
Solar start-up Veranda Solar wants to change the world of solar power the way Apple changed computers. Veranda got a big head-start on financing the start-up when the company was awarded 100,000€ as runner-up in the PICNIC Green Challenge, funded by the Dutch postcode lottery. The solar panels Veranda uses are nothing special. The prototypes were developed in cooperation with Stanford University and SunPower Corp. No new photovoltaic advances, no biomimicry.

Vatican Closer To Being Powered Entirely By The Lord

The Vatican wants to be the first "carbon neutral" state, which ought to be rather easy considering it's rather tiny. In order to do this the Pope is installing $1.5 million worth of solar panels to power the Holy See. Anything less, would be "an insult to God."
