Is stimulus signage wasteful government spending?

Recoveryactsign_397x224
Some local officials are spending freely to post street signs that let people know the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- better known as the stimulus bill -- has funded a highway project in local neighborhoods, an expense that has Republicans blistering over why taxpayer money is being used to promote how taxpayer money is being used.

Should Sharon Withrow take down her "Yes We Can" XMas Lights?

She put a huge display on her roof, neighbors say it's a 'political sign' and has to be removed within 7 days of the election. "Withrow's neighbors are humbugging out about the "Yes We Can" message she wrote in red, white and blue lights on the roof of her home...lawyer says Withrow's 4-by-15-foot display constitutes a political sign, which the association's covenants dictate may be no larger than 3 feet by 4 feet. Rules require that political signs be 'removed no later than seven days after an election.'... Members of the Tuscany Maintenance Association apparently are so offended by the three words that they have sent not just one, but two testy letters citing a threat to property values, demanding the lights' immediate removal and threatening Withrow with a fine. "
