Sony’s RED - mp3s start at 15 cents and rise with demand

RED, Sony Music’s third-party distribution arm, has just become the first major-label division to price music at 15 cents on the AmieStreet online music store. As with other music sold there, RED’s tracks (from My Morning Jacket, Third Eye Blind, and many others) will increase in price as demand increases to a maximum of 98 cents.

Dell's new music player.

After Dell's acquisition of Zing, they are apparently working on a new device that will out-apple the ipod. In addition to *yawn* features like satellite radio, FM, and MP3, and wi-fi, prototypes also feature zing technology which allow scenarios like music sharing for free, the ability to hum or sing a tune and find the song, finding other users nearby, etc.
