Wallace now faces twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder, for what he described as an act of defending his property and his life. NBA suspends referee Joe DeRosa for throwing ball at heckler

As DeRosa and fellow referees Marc Davis and Bill Kennedy approached the scorer's table to retrieve their jackets, a heckler yelled at DeRosa. DeRosa then tossed the game ball at the fan, who immediately tossed it back at DeRosa. DeRosa then called Amway Arena security officials over to the scene, and the fan — Franz Hanning, the president and CEO of Wyndham Vacation Ownership — was relocated to another seat.

Scotus: Life in prison for teens is cruel and unusual

ruling it is cruel and unusual punishment to give a young criminal a life term in prison with no chance for parole for a crime that does not involve murder. In a 6-3 decision, the court struck down the laws in Florida and 36 other states which permit life prison terms for criminals who were under age 18 at the time of their crimes. Currently, 129 prisoners are serving such terms nationwide, and 77 of them are in Florida.

Man won't be charged after he strangled shoplifter to death

Authorities said Kyser was shoplifting from a CVS Pharmacy in the 2600 block of South Pulaski Road just before 11 a.m. Saturday. He was chased out of the store and ran into an alley next to the building. Kyser fell unconscious during a struggle with the employee of the pharmacy, officials said.
