Facebook says that it will look at the profiles of your previous boyfriends/girlfriends to determine the personality traits you’re attracted to most, and that it will also use advanced photographic analysis to figure out your preferred facial structure and body type. In an attempt to quell privacy concerns before they begin, Facebook notes that all of this is done automatically, and that at no point are employees allowed to view these reports on your innermost psyche.

Thread.com then uses Facebook Connect to look up some basic information about your friends and friends of your friends. It shows each match in a grid, much like what you’d see on most other dating sites. Depending on your connection to each match you’ll be able to see things like their current relationship status, their location, interests, profile photos, and even photo albums (though depending on each user’s privacy settings you may not be able to see all of these).

Should couples live together before marriage?

A question that came up a lot while Paul and I were still dating was whether or not we should live together first. When we had been together for a couple of years, we started talking about taking the plunge. But it ended up taking us three more years, and a few false starts, to actually take the plunge. In that time, we both had our fair share of people who had no problem telling us their opinions (supportive and not so supportive) about living together before marriage.

EHarmony launches gay matchmaking service - how will it do?

(note - it had to by court order) The adamantly heterosexual dating website, which has accepted only male-female couples since its inception in 2000, is launching a gay matchmaking service called Compatible Partners (www.compatiblepartners.net). But EHarmony's new relationship with the gay community is more like a shotgun wedding: The company agreed in November to start the dating service as part of a settlement with the New Jersey attorney general in the wake of a discrimination suit.

Why do I find it so easy not to cheat? Maybe I'm not very attractive, so my options are limited. Maybe I'm too jaded to go for the cheating opportunities.
