Bus driver faces reprimand for stopping for coffee

"Is there a problem? Did the bus break down?" was the initial reaction of Phil Russo, a 29-year-old campaign coordinator for Todd Long, running in the Republican primary to face U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando. Russo said he started taking video when he saw the driver – Sham Seedarnee, a six-year veteran with no previous complaints, waiting in line for a coffee. Seedarnee could not be reached for comment. "This is very annoying and should be a violation of Lynx policy," Russo wrote in an e-mail to the Orlando Sentinel.

Cafe bans laptops on weekends to make it a nicer social place

It's been an interesting few more days over here. We continue to have lots of people coming through the doors who are really excited about laptop-free weekends, and also creating a space that's a bit different from the average cafe.

Naked man making coffee in own kitchen charged w/ indecent exp.

"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," Williamson said. The complaint came from an unidentified woman who was walking with a 7-year-old boy. A Fairfax County Police spokesman said officers arrested Williamson for indecent exposure because they believe he wanted to be seen naked by the public.

I have talked to the workers (aka baristas) at Starbucks, and they have all had a chance to taste this. They swear it tastes like fresh-brewed Starbucks coffee. Will this take off (Thrive) or will the 'bad taste' halo of brands such as Nescafe and Folger's create too big of a barrier (Fail)?

NEW YORK (AP) — Starbucks Corp. said Thursday it will unveil a new instant coffee as part of its attempt to turn around sluggish sales and shed its reputation for pricey lattes. The company has been working on the product for more than 20 years and has a patent pending on the technology that will allow it to "absolutely replicate the taste of Starbucks coffee in an instant form," spokesman Vivek Varma said in an e-mail to employees.

Starbucks' breakfast deals run $3.95

Starbucks Corp., which is trying to refashion its image as a more recession-friendly coffeehouse, offered more details Monday on the breakfast "pairings" it will sell beginning March 3. The gourmet coffee chain said it will introduce value-meal type options for $3.95 each in its U.S. company-owned stores. Customers can order a tall latte and an oatmeal or a slice of reduced-fat cinnamon swirl coffee cake. Drip coffee drinkers can get a tall brewed coffee with a breakfast sandwich at the same price.

Man Watches 72 Hours of TV for Record

STOCKHOLM (Feb. 9) - Suresh Joachim has broken his own Guinness world record for nonstop broadcast-television watching, clocking 72 hours in the Swedish capital. "I feel fine, I drank between 25 and 30 cups of coffee," Joachim said Sunday. His previous record was 69 hours, 48 minutes, set in 2005.
