... with an Uzi. That's right, an 8 year old boy was firing an Uzi at a gun show and lost control of it, shot himself in the head and died. "Witnesses said the boy "was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury," police said in the statement they released. He was conscious and lying on the ground at the shooting range with a wound to the right side of his head when police and emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene, police said."

While the economy crashes, gun sales are thriving. Two factors- worry about new gun controls under Obama and worry about increased crime. "purchases of firearms and ammunition have risen 8 to 10 percent this year, according to state and federal data... people often buy firearms during periods of uncertainty. Boy dies from salt poisoning, did the parents commit murder?

I'll do my best to summarize, but read the article to be sure. The couple had 4 kids and were adopting the victim. The wife was expecting their 5th. The prosecutor says the boy was forced to swallow 23 teaspoons of hot sauce. The accused would-be adoptive mother says the boy had a bizarre eating disorder, and that he would eat obsessively, including dog and cat food and garbage. Hospital workers say the boy had bruises. The previous foster mother said the boy had no eating problems. The couple are devout Christians.

In case you're not following this, the head of the International Monetary Fund had an affair with a married subordinate and yesterday the 24 member board ruled that "there was no evidence that Strauss-Kahn 'arranged for or provided the female staff member with any work-related benefit for participating in the affair.' It also found no evidence that Strauss-Kahn "threatened the female staff member in any way" to keep the affair confidential."
