In case you don't know, the Hadron particle collider is the fastest particle collider ever built. Physicists are geeked up about it. Many are predicting the proof of the existence of theoretical subatomic particles, and others are predicting discovery of new subatomic particles. They basically shoot atoms at each other down a 17 mile tunnel and watch them asplode. A few are predicting the end of the world. From the article: "Other currently theoretical particles may also be observed for the first time, including microscopic black holes--some people have theorized that this side of the project could go wrong with Earth-threatening results, a fear that CERN has comprehensively and repeatedly denied."
